Pour Over Guide (We use an Ode Grinder and a Fellow XF Brewer)
  • If you brew on another pour over system, this same idea will work, it will just finish brewing at different times
    • ​(Ex, V60 we aim for 2 min 45 seconds, Kalita we aim for 3 min, etc. just aim for what you like taste wise)
 
  • We recommend a 1:15 coffee to water ratio
    • 25.7 grams of coffee in, 360 grams of coffee out​​
 
  1. Grind coffee to a medium fine grind (but more on the finer side)
  2. Fill brewer with 25.7 grams of coffee
  3. Once water is boiled, pour 50 grams of water into brewer (saturating all the grounds) to bloom, wait 30 seconds.
  4. After 30 seconds, circle pour (pour in a circular motion) 50 gram increments, waiting around 5-6 seconds in between pours 
    1. ​​​​​(Ex.) 50 grams pour at 30 seconds, finish around 42 seconds, then wait till 48 seconds to pour the next 50 grams, continue this until you hit 300 grams around 1 minute 40 seconds​
  5. At 300 grams, pour the final 60 grams of water into the brewer (this pour should start around 1 min 40 sec)
  6. Once the brewer is fully drained, you should finish the brew at 2 min 30 sec.
    1. If it pulled longer, repeat this but coarsen your grind (Over-extraction)
    2. If it pulled faster, repeat this but fine up your grind (Under-extraction)
